Holy Mail Batman!!!

wow, a few days away from the blog and a mountain of mail to report!! first, I got my random swap (from Crafster.org) goodness. It came a while ago and I was so good about getting pictures on to craftster...

and I also received a package from miss Hippiechik, also from craftster. she traded for some things in the trading post.

Mail_001 I hope you can see the earrings. I wore them yesterday and got a bunch of compliments!

then...a HUGE package from my neighbor to the north Deanna. It was like a magic trick, I just kept pulling things out of the box!!!! It came just as my daughter arrived home from school so we had a lot of fun seeing all the things together. She also sent something for each of the kids. I was really very touched. She is such a sweet person!! She has a loving mother-in-law who suffers from the same disease I do: yardsaleitis. She buys D anything that is craft related. Even if she doesn't do that particular craft. I think we all can sympathize with craft overflow. so she send bunches to me and puts bunches in the trading post (see my gallery). Her husband won't finish her craft room until they clear it all out so take a look and see if there is anything you need for your crafting pleasure!!

anyhow, here are my goodies:

I wish I could take a better picture of these. They are a spider and a butterfly made from beads. They even feel neat!! The butterfly is on a suction cup so I can hang him in the window. it was neat because my son and daughter had butterfly cocoons my mom got for them at the flower show and they hatched the other day. I told them they had to let the butterflies go or they would die. they were a little sad, but now my son says he can look at this one to remind him.

Mail_004 a ton of fabric. most of which is going immediately into the quilt I am working on.

Mail_005 patterns...I can't wait to make some little man jammies for my two year old for the fall...

Mail_006 gifts for the kiddies.

Mail_007 craft books. Pom poms. or is it pom pon? There was some debate....

Mail_008 and bottle caps to make bottle cap jewelry. I have no idea what this is but I have to find out. not only do I have all of these...but my husband and I drink a beer from magic hat and each cap has a little saying on the back. Kind of like Snapple...but with a kick.

and last but not least...

Mail_009 LITTLE GOLDENS!! and, strangely enough, one of them is the book that started my whole little golden obsession. The chipmunk ABC. I remember having this book as a child and I was sure we would find my copy at my grandmother's but it never turned up. so I started looking for a copy. and never found one. not of that one, not yet. but it started the spark. Now, I have it. and toad flies high, which I also did not have. it has some great pictures.

I am just too spoiled I think!! but it is a good pick me up, since or refrigerator died this week and we had to buy a new one. which means I will have some delivery men here on Monday. delivery men love my house. we live in an antique new englander with doors about as wide as a mouse hole. but of course, I wanted a huge fridge since I always have it chock full o'stuff for the five of us, and max, who is supposed to be on a diet...I am hoping it all goes off without a hitch. Right now I am drinking diet coke that has been in the freezer all day and it is lukewarm. not fun. we have another fridge and a large freezer in the basement but we have a basement not of the carpeted, big-screen-tv-containing, rec-room type, but of the damp, smelly, dungeon full of creepy bugs type. so, not fun to go down there every time you want a piece of cheese. Now all we need is a new stove and we will have replaced every major appliance in the house. Yeah for our best buy credit card!!

oh, and I have been doing a little crafting. nothing finished as of yet, but here is a peek:

Mail_010

and I just wanted to mention to all you fellow crafters, you have to check out this bag. She made it out of dish towels...I of course went immediately to our nearest Kmart but we had nothing like this. Just ghastly-looking chickens.

Jenn,

What a fabulous mail day. Congradulations!! (Sorry about the fridge though - that is a real bummer) I have seen some really great bags made with bottle caps. Have fun.

Hello! Lucky you getting all that mail!
Thanks for commenting on my blog and for the Happy Birthday wishes :P your blog is just so cute! You are so creative :)

Well, aren't you lucky? :) Those jammie patterns are too cute, and I love those Golden books you have...it inspires me to add to my collection.

Yay for presents! And Craftster!

Jenn,
You always get such fabulous things in the mail. I'm looking forward to seeing the quilt that you're working on. Is it almost done?

gotta love that mail! love the new site--so many goodies to look at. that quilted piece you're working on looks so cute, can't wait to see the finished product!

I love Little Goldens too, even now at 30+!! They were always my favorite as a kid.
